Dr. Joe Thomas, D.C.

Dr. Joe’s journey into chiropractic care started with a personal experience. After a serious neck injury in high school, he struggled with ongoing pain, fatigue, and frequent illness. It wasn’t until he received chiropractic care that his health began to truly change, an experience that ultimately shaped the way he practices today.

Because of that journey, Dr. Joe is passionate about helping patients get to the root cause of their health concerns, not just managing symptoms. He believes the body is designed to heal when the nervous system is functioning well, and that true care should support the whole person, not just one problem.

At Joshua Spine and Health Center, Dr. Joe uses the Gonstead Method, a highly specific and thorough approach to chiropractic care. Every patient receives a detailed assessment and a personalized plan designed to restore function, relieve stress on the body, and support long-term wellness.

With over 24 years of experience, Dr. Joe has spent the past decade serving families in the Joshua community. He continues to stay current through ongoing education in chiropractic care, sports injuries, pregnancy, and pediatrics.

Outside the office, Dr. Joe enjoys life with his wife, Jess, and their three children. As a family, they value a lifestyle centered around health, faith, and serving their community.

Jessica Thomas

Jess has worked in the wellness and beauty business for almost 10 years before moving to Texas. She is now co-owner and office manager of Joshua Spine and Health Center where her goal is to make the office a warm and friendly environment for each and every patient. Jess looks forward to meeting you and helping you reach better health naturally.

Katie Mitchell

Katie was born and raised in good ol' West, TX - Abilene. She is the wife of a Navy vet and mom to three girls who attend Joshua ISD. Her and her husband enjoy coaching their daughters softball teams, and are very active in their church. Katie enjoys competative powerlifting and anything fitness related.

Tammy Stephens

Tammy was born in Fort Worth TX but was raised in Abilene. She is married and is proud to have raised two sons while living in various places in the US, including Massachusetts, Indiana, Colorado, Pennsylvania and Florida. She is very happy to be back “home” in Texas! She values family, connection and helping others feel cared for and supported.

Kristina Hogan

Kristina is a dedicated chiropractic assistant with a strong foundation in patient care and customer service, built through 34 years as a professional hairstylist. Well-connected within her community, she is known for her warm personality, compassion, and ability to make others feel welcome and valued.

She brings these same strengths into her work in healthcare, where she supports daily office operations, patient communication, scheduling, and creating a comfortable, patient-focused environment.

Outside of the chiropractic office, Kristina serves at Pathway Church in the Common Grounds coffee bar, where she enjoys connecting with people and offering a welcoming space for fellowship and conversation. Her passion for serving others shines through in every role she takes on, both professionally and within her community.

Licensed Massage Therapist

Ashley Barrett

Ashley was in retail management for a little over 16 years. During that time, she found her love for helping people but wanted to be able to support them in a more impactful way. In March 2021, Ashley decided to go to Cortiva Institute for Massage Therapy, where she specialized in therapeutic massage and relaxation massage.

In November 2021, Ashley passed her MBLEX exam and became licensed by the state of Texas. Ashley believes the relaxation of the muscles and the release of tension and stress will contribute to your overall health and wellness.

Ashley lives in Fort Worth, not too far from where she was born and raised. She lives with her husband Jeremy and their four kiddos. In her free time she enjoys hanging out with family and friends, being in the sun, swimming and watching movies.
